July, 2004 - Ladue Chapel's mission trip to Belize officially ended Saturday night, July 26, 2004, with prayer near our arrival gate at Lambert St. Louis Airport. We gave thanks for a wonderful, safe week.

Ladue Chapel sent 17 members to Belize. Our ages ranged from 13 to the mid 60's. Everyone had plenty to do.

Our construction crew worked at the school for three days and at San Roman one day. They bent wire; hauled sand; made mortar; toted water and cement bricks as they built walls, headers and columns. They learned continually from the three wonderful men who work construction and minister to the three congregations.

The medical group gave basic primary care to around 370 people in four days, two at Guinea Grass and two at Sam Roman. They will look into working at the hospital the next time, hopefully scheduling surgeries.

Work was accomplished in the school library. Shelving was moved; the primary section organized and color-coded; and work continued in the teacher reference area.

We also conducted three Bible Schools; one at the school, one at Guinea Grass and one at The San Francisco Catholic Prayer Ministry.

Ladue Chapel supplied construction, medical and Bible School supplies through our Christmas Joy offering and Mission Council. Our THROW Chapter collected and put together almost 300 health and education packets. These were distributed at the Guinea Grass and San Francisco Bible School programs.

We got to travel a jungle river, climb Mayan temple ruins and snorkel a great barrier reef, but, our greatest joy came in meeting and working with some of the world's finest people - Christians who have dedicated their lives to serving God and others.

We were privileged to worship with Reverend Rios' congregation on Sunday evening, June 20. The scripture reading was from Genesis 12:1-3 - Blessed to be a Blessing.

We are thankful to God that we had this opportunity. We were blessed.
